Aomori Pref.“Kukkuru The Road of the Light
- Summary
Two siblings, sister and brother, go into a hole while playing hide and seek, and suddenly realize that they are in a forest. There, they encounter a round, hairy creature called Kukkuru. Kukkuru leads them to live in a village lined with mud roof houses, where they eat acorns and chestnuts, and make earthenware of all shapes and sizes… This fantasy depicts the emotional interaction between Kukkuru, a forest spirit, and the siblings who accidently travel back in time to Aomori Prefecture in the Jomon period, a place that has existed in harmony with nature for thousands of years.
