Sushi and Beyond
- Summary
Michael Booth, a British food writer, picks up a book on Japanese cuisine and is fascinated by it. Eager to experience the real taste of Japanese cuisine for himself, Michael takes his wife, Lisleen, and their two children, Asger and Emil, and sets off for Japan. On their first night in Japan, they head to “”Omoide Yokocho”” in Shinjuku. There, Michael thought to himself as he ate his first bite of “”yakisoba”” (fried noodles), which looked like a soggy worm, and thought, “”This is addictive…””
Plus, mackerel sushi, tofu, okonomiyaki, takoyaki, ramen, horse chestnut, soy sauce, miso, sake… all the dishes and ingredients of Japan are consumed by the British family!
